    So enjoyed searching your site. I have found numerous small brown glazed bottles which I think are ink bottles but how were they sealed .?

      Hi Carol, glad to hear that. Most small brown glazed bottles were, as you say, for ink, although ones with wider necks were sometimes used for glue, boot polish and furniture cream. The ink bottles had rough-fitting corks, which could be held in place with sealing wax. Some companies certainly sold them with the corks sealed in, in this way. Best, Tom
